SAN DIEGO (March 31, 2015) Former service members raise their hands during the decommissioning ceremony of the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5), at Naval Base San Diego, when guest speaker Rear Admiral Marcus A. Hitchcock, director, Fleet/Joint Training, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, asks who in the audience has served on the ship during its more than 34 years of service. After the decommissioning process is complete, Peleliu will be towed from San Diego to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, to join the reserve fleet.
