SAN DIEGO (March 31, 2015) Sailors disembark during the decommissioning ceremony for the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) at Naval Base San Diego. Peleliu has been decommissioned after more than 34 years of service. After the decommissioning process is complete, Peleliu will be towed from San Diego to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, to join the reserve fleet.
