Inside the Hohenfels Training Area’s Camp Albersthof, Soldiers of the U.S. Army 2nd Cavalry Regiment receive machine gun familiarization Monday, April 6, 2015 using the Engagement Skills Trainer (EST 2000) virtual trainer prior to using the same weapons systems in the field during Saber Junction 15. The EST 2000 replicates the realistic effects of several weapons systems for Soldiers to train on without the cost of ammunition. U.S. Army Europe’s Saber Junction 15 takes place April 1-30, 2015 in Germany, Romania and Lithuania and prepares U.S., NATO allies, and European security partners to conduct unified land operations through the simultaneous combination of offensive, defensive and stability operations appropriate to the mission and the environment.
