A member of the Civilian Military Community Council exits a CH-53E Super Stallion belonging to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461 at Bombing Target 11 on Piney Island, N.C., April 8, 2015. The CMCC and Joint Land Use Study visited BT-11 as part of an aerial tour hosted by Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point of the air station's outlying training facilities. Air station leaders meet periodically with members of the CMCC and JLUS to strengthen ties between Cherry Point and surrounding communities. Pilots from Cherry Point and across 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing frequently train at BT-11 to prepare for expeditionary operations, sea-based force projection and aviation support of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force.
