Air station leaders meet periodically with members of the CMCC and Joint Land Use Study to strengthen ties between Cherry Point and surrounding communities. Pilots from Cherry Point and across 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing frequently train at OLF Atlantic to prepare for expeditionary operations, sea-based force projection and aviation support of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force.
