A pair of CH-53E Super Stallions belonging to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 461 prepare to land at Auxiliary Landing Field Bogue, N.C., April 8, 2015. The aircraft were part of an aerial tour of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point's outlying training facilities for members of the Civilian Military Community Council and Joint Land Use Study hosted by the air station. Air station leaders meet periodically with members of the CMCC and JLUS to strengthen ties between Cherry Point and surrounding communities. Pilots from Cherry Point and across 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing frequently train at ALF Bogue to prepare for expeditionary operations, sea-based force projection and aviation support of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force.
