Lt. Gen. John E. Wissler eats the first piece of cake with the youngest master chief in the command, Master Chief Neville Facey, from Colorado Springs, Colorado, after being awarded as a “honorary chief petty officer” March 31 at the III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters building on Camp Courtney. "He understands the Navy and Marine Corps are successful as a team, each bringing their own skills to the fight," said III MEF Command Master Chief Eric S. Anderson. "This team, when working together as one is unmatched." Only the master chief petty officer of the Navy can officially award personnel as an honorary chief. Anderson is the command master chief for III MEF. Wissler is the commanding general of III MEF. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Rebecca Elmy/Released)
