Despite death threats to anyone who joins the Iraqi Security Forces, Ism'ael, Kaleed and Razak - brothers from southern Iraq - joined the Iraqi Army together nine months ago seeking the same thing: financial freedom for their family and independence for their country. Recently, Ism'ael and Kaleed were at Al Asad Air Base with their unit, the Iraqi Army's 8th Motor Transportation Regiment, while it was receiving training from U.S. Marines and sailors who are teaching the Iraqis about convoy operations and vehicle maintenance. The hope is that this training will help the Iraqi Army improve its logistics capabilities as it strives to become a fully independent military unit.
