Lt. Col. Gail E. Atkins, commander of 122nd Aviation Support Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, addresses the battalion during her outgoing speech. Atkins relinquished the battalion colors during the battalion change of command ceremony on Fort Bragg, N.C., June 3, 2015. Atkins handed over the command of the battalion to Lt. Col. Stephen W. Owen. Atkins redeployed the battalion from Afghanistan by the end of December 2014 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and helped assist with the retrograde operations in Afghanistan. Owen will continue to lead the battalion to conduct combat service support operations to provide the brigade logistical support to preform full spectrum aviation operations.
