The school was renovated by U.S. Naval Construction Battalion 11 and 3, and Bulgarian Land Forces troops of the Center for Preparation of Tank Specialists in Sliven as part of a combined humanitarian civic assistance effort of Joint Task Force-East. Nelson is a Reserve soldier from the 457th Civil Affairs Battalion out of Vicenza, Italy.
