U.S. Army Pfcs. Andrew Soto and Spencer S. Symons (left to right), beautify Sinchec Kindergarten as part of a volunteer group, Sept. 1, at Zimnitsa village. Soto is a native of El Paso, Texas, and information technology specialist for V Corps G-6, and Symons is a native of Little Rock, Ark., and electrician for the 15th Engineer Battalion, 18th Engineer Brigade, out of Schweinfurt, Germany. These soldiers and other military members participated in helping renovate the kindergarten alongside U.S. Navy Seabees. Soto said, "I wanted to help this place out, and I love doing community service. Here we?re trying to get along with other community members. I always liked to help, if someone needed something I always offered to help." Symons also said he enjoys helping others, "I thought it would be nice to do community service. Also gives me a wider perspective on the local community. It has an actual visible effect on the community. Whatever little bit we can do to increase their quality of life so they can further enjoy coming to school to learn."
