Shotgun shells are lined up before they are used in the practical weapons course at the Kaneohe Bay Range Training Facility July 24, 2015. During the shotgun course, Marines fire from the standing, kneeling and hip-fire position with the shotgun. The 140-acre range provides facilities for small arms marksmanship training, qualification, and requalification. In addition to Marine Corps Base Hawaii Marines, the range is used by members of the Department of Defense, local law enforcement, and federal organizations. The mission of MCB Hawaii is to provide facilities, programs and services in direct support of units, individuals and families to enhance and sustain combat readiness for all operating forces and tenant organizations aboard the installation.
