Cpl. Billy M. Newby, a 27-year-old from McMinnville, Tenn., scans the distance with his rifle's scope while on a "knock-and-talk" patrol in Zaidon, Iraq. Newby and his Marines patrolled the area, speaking with locals to find out about rouble spots. One tip led them to a buried insurgent sniper rifle. Newby is assigned to B Company, 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 5.
