Oregon Army National Guard Spc. Shawn Troyer, from Pendleton, Oregon, with the 1186th Military Police Company, mounts a blank firing adaptor on a .50 caliber machine gun, Aug. 14. The 1186th MP Co. will provide support to the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team, Idaho Army National Guard, during battle simulation scenarios for their annual training. This training cycle is the first force-on-force, high-intensity conflict rotation the National Guard has participated in since the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom, and is composed of more than 5,200 Soldiers from 11 states’ National Guard units, the U.S. Army Reserve, and active duty U.S. Army Soldiers.
