ARABIAN GULF (Aug. 14, 2015) Deck Sailors conduct flight operations with a MH-60S Seahawk helicopter from the “Blackjacks” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 21 on the flight deck of Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47). Rushmore is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
