On 13May 2006, a Third Marine Aircraft Wing Foward (3D MAW( FWD)), Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169(HMLA-169) AH-1 Super Cobra flies down the taxiway as a security escort for 3D MAW(FWD), Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 268 (HMM-268) Casualty Evacuation(CasEvac) mission as a CH-46 stands by to lauch on Al Taqaddum, Iraq. HMLA-169 and HMM-268 are both currently deployed with I MEF (FWD) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq (MNF-W) to develop the Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
