U.S. Army Garrison Japan executed a four-day Installation Emergency Management (IEM) Program Full-Scale Exercise (FSE) with support from U.S. Army Japan and its host nation partners at Camp Zama on Sept. 14, 2015. The purpose of the exercise is to satisfy the Headquarters Installation Management Command IEM Program exercise and training requirements and elevate emergency preparedness of the USAG Japan/USARJ community. Exercise events included the emergency response to a vehicle accident that resulted in a hazardous chemical release. HAZMAT Teams and fire crews from the USAG Japan fire department, Zama City Fire Department, and Sagamihara City Fire Department all participated in the exercise.
