Brig. Gen. Mary E. Link, deputy commanding general of the Army Reserve Medical Command, receives promotion to major general in a ceremony held Sept. 26, 2015, at the C.W. Bill Young Armed Forces Reserve Center. The promotion ceremony was a true family affair. Link’s son’s, Matthew and Jacob Dona affixed her new two-star rank to her uniform and beret; Her brother, retired U.S. Air Force Col. Jon Link, administered the oath of office; and her daughter-in-law Kinsey Dona received flowers on her behalf. After the promotion ceremony, Link assumed command of ARMEDCOM in a change of command ceremony. In assuming her new post as commanding general, Link became the fifth commander and first woman in the ten-year history of the unit to take command.
