Col. Morris T. Goins, Fort Jackson chief of staff, greets members of the 171st Infantry Brigade’s color guard during pre-game ceremonies at the USC Military Appreciation Day Saturday. The event is a yearly occurrence where the school salutes the military’s contribution to South Carolina. At half-time Fort Jackson Soldiers, fired a volley to salute veterans while other held aloft giant U.S. flags and those of all 50 states and four territories.
