As seen through night-vision optics, Sgt. James Ozsomer, 1st Lt. Pat Barone, and Pfc. John Williams, paratroopers with Company D, 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division (Advise and Assist Brigade), look for evidence of recent smuggling activity while on patrol near the Iraqi-Syrian border Dec. 7, 2009. Barone's platoon is one of many partnering with Iraqi department of border security for training and security operations prior to the 2010 Iraqi national elections.
