A mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicle is barely discernable from the surrounding landscape as paratroopers with Company D, 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division (Advise and Assist Brigade), conduct foot patrols near the Iraqi-Syrian border Dec. 7, 2009. U.S. forces recently began partnered training and security operations with Iraqi border security forces in the area.
