    USS Nimitz (CVN 68)   

    Capt. Bret Batchelder, Commander Carrier Air Wing 11, Cmdr. James Preston Commanding Officer, Strike Fighter Squadron 97 and Cmdr. William Shoemaker Executive Officer, VFA- 97 fly in formation over the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz for an airborne change of command. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is on a routine deployment to the region. Operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
