    USS Nimitz (CVN 68)   

    Capt. Bret Batchelder, Commander Carrier Air Wing 11 and Cmdr. William Shoemaker, the new Commanding Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron 97 fly in formation over the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz after an airborne change of command. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is on a routine deployment to the region. Operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
