The Chairman of the Wasit Provincial council, the Governor of Wasit Province and members of the Wasit Provincial Reconstruction Team cut the ribbon, officially opening a new pump station in Al Hwar, Iraq, Dec. 15. The pump, built with U.S. loans to the government of Iraq, is part of a series of eight stations built to provide improved irrigation for farmers south of the Tigris River.
