While dancing with children from Holy Family Children's Home in Osaka, Japan, Army Sgt. Maj. Robert F. Brillant, a Bangor, Maine, native currently serving as the G6 (information technology) sergeant major, U.S. Amy Japan (USARJ), lifts a young girl into the air Dec. 2, 2015. Brillant joined service members from USARJ, U.S. Army I Corps and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force to help the children, volunteers and staff members of Holy Family Home celebrate the holidays with music, games and gift giving. Holy Family Home’s relationship with the U.S. Army began Christmas Day, 1949, when Soldiers from the 27th Infantry Regiment—better known as the Wolfhounds—visited the home to give gifts to the children. Today many Soldiers from the 27th Infantry Regiment regularly visit Holy Family Home, while families from the Wolfhound community sponsor several children for what is a likely a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Hawaii.
