Sgt. 1st Class Mike Schlitz hugs 1st Sgt. Chris McMillian, 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, after arriving at Contingency Operating Base Carver, Dec. 30. Schlitz and McMillian served together in 2007, when Schlitz was struck by an improvised explosive device that left him with burns covering 85 percent of his body and the loss of both hands.
