Sgt. Bill Congleton's prosthetic leg peeks out from his pant leg as he sits during the United States Forces-Iraq command merger ceremony, Jan. 1. Congleton was struck by an improvised explosive device, June 23, 2004, two miles outside of Camp Taji, Iraq, leaving him with a below-the-knee amputation of his right leg.
