Col. Mark Campsey, company commander, 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and Command Sgt. Maj. Alfred Cordova uncase the unit colors Jan. 6 during rehearsal for the Joint Area Support Group-Central transfer of authority ceremony scheduled for the following day in front of the al Salam Palace, Baghdad, Iraq. The out-going unit, the 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team from Wisconsin, has had command of the JASG-C since May 2009 and watched the American Armed Forces footprint shrink exponentially over the months of their deployment.
