Col. Steven Bensend, 32nd IBCT commander, handed over command of the Joint Area Support Group-Central to Col. Mark Campsey, 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team commander and Command Sgt. Maj. Alfred Cordova, whose Texas National Guard brigade is headquartered in Houston, Texas. The out-going unit, the 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team from Wisconsin, has had command of the JASG-C since May 2009 and watched the American Armed Forces footprint shrink exponentially over the months of their deployment.
