U.S. Navy Lt. j.g. Gerald Bennett, operations officer stationed aboard the Africa Partnership Station East platform Swift (HSV 2), guards against an attacking forward during a community sporting event held between the APS team and the Mombasa Sports Club Football team in Mombasa, Kenya, Jan. 13. This event is just one in a series of community outreach and social engagements for APS in Kenya. Swift, along with USS Nicholas (FFG 47) are in East Africa and will visit ports in Djibouti, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Mauritius, Seychelles and Comoros to participate in maritime exchanges aimed at enhancing maritime safety and security in the region.
