Master Chief Petty Officer Harlan B. Patawaran, the 1st Marine Logistics Group command master chief, talks about leadership with Sgt. Four meritoriously promoted sergeants shared an afternoon with Brigadier Gen. David A. Ottignon, the 1st MLG commanding general, Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black, the 1st MLG sergeant major, and Master Chief Petty Officer Harlan B. Patawaran. The gathering served as an ideal opportunity to draw on the leaders’ knowledge and experience through discussions of leadership, work ethic, family life, and what it means to be a sergeant of Marines. The four Marines promoted included Sgt. Lawas, Sgt. Casey Primeaux, a combat engineer with 7th Engineer Support Battalion, Sgt. Nadia Gonzalezdiez, a food service specialist with Food Service Company, Headquarters Regiment, and Sgt.
