160301-N-ZA585-108 SOUTH CHINA SEA (March 1, 2016) - Seaman David Schnieder, from Chicago, uses a naval firefighting thermal imager (NFTI) to check for hot spots as he exits a smoke-filled compartment during damage control (DC) rodeo aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). DC Rodeo is a four-hour long event training Sailors in various aspects of damage control. Providing a ready force supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific, Stennis is operating as part of the Great Green Fleet on a regularly scheduled 7th Fleet deployment.
