Members of Coast Guard Sector Mobile were presented with the Coast Guard Foundation Award for the incredible rescue of 40 people in April 2015. A storm hit the Mobile Bay, Ala., area, running a 600-foot chemical tanker aground and impacting 117 sailboats that were participating in a sailing regatta. Chaos ensued, but Sector Mobile quickly coordinated multiple Coast Guard assets and local agencies, initiating over 30 search and rescue cases. Receiving the award is Capt.
