A brand new Art Deco-style federal eagle decorating the entrance to the New York National Guard's Harlem Armory towers over the East River and Harlem River Drive in New York City, as the result of a $2.2 million project which has been recognized with the New York Landmarks Conservancy's Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award. The building was originally built to house the 369th Infantry Regiment-- famous as the Harlem Hell Fighters-- which distinguished itself in World War I.
