160321-N-FR671-026 SAN DIEGO (March 21, 2016) – Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Christopher Ogden, assigned to deck department on board the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), confirms orders to the helm before executing the rudder movement in the pilot house. America is currently conducting maritime training operations off the coast of California. The ship is the first of its class and is optimized for Marine Corps aviation.
