160321-N-VR008-091 SAN DIEGO (March 21, 2016) – Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Dylan Benson and Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) 2nd Class Anthony Kolm, both assigned to Air department on board the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), tighten bolts on an aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) hose reel located on the cat-walk. America is currently conducting maritime training operations off the coast of California. The ship is the first of its class and is optimized for Marine Corps aviation.
