Seen from beneath are the additional mud flaps (top) for the Self-Protection Adaptive Roller Kit, which Spc. Michael A. Boucher, a gun truck driver from Batesville, Miss., designed, assembled and mounted. Boucher serves with 1st Platoon, B Company, 2nd Battalion, 198th Combined Arms, 155th Brigade Combat Team, out of Greenwood, Miss. The additional mud flaps for the SPARKs – which absorbs bomb damage, shielding the vehicle and crew – have significantly reduced mud splatter that limited visibility and increased the risk of accidents.
