Seen from the gunner's turret is the Self-Protection Adaptive Roller Kit of a scout truck in 1st Platoon, B Company, 2nd Battalion, 198th Combined Arms, 155th Brigade Combat Team, out of Greenwood, Miss. Spc. Michael A. Boucher, the scout truck driver from Batesville, Miss., designed, assembled and mounted additional mud flaps atop the left and right roller banks of the SPARKs – a device that absorbs bomb damage, shielding the vehicle and crew. The additional mud flaps have significantly reduced mud splatter that limited visibility and increased the risk of accidents.
