Soldiers from 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division test the boom and winch of an M88 Armored Recovery vehicle as they draw equipment from the European Activity Set at Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany April 5. Soldiers from the brigade will be drawing EAS equipment at locations in Germany, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Romania in preparation for Exercise Anakonda 16, a Polish-led national exercise taking place in Poland from June 7-17. It involves more than 25,000 participants from 24 nations. Anakonda 16 is one of the premier training events for U.S. Army Europe and further supports assurance and deterrence measures by demonstrating Allied defense capabilities to deploy, mass and sustain combat power.
