M1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tanks and M2A3 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles are lined up in a motor pool at Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, Romania as soldiers from 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division draw equipment from the European Activity Set April 7 and continue to build combat power in Europe. Soldiers from the brigade will be drawing EAS equipment at locations in Germany, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Romania in preparation for Exercise Anakonda 16, a Polish national exercise taking place June 7-17 throughout Poland. It involves more than 25,000 participants from 24 nations and further supports assurance and deterrence measures by demonstrating Allied defense capabilities to deploy, mass and sustain combat power.
