DONA ANNA RANGE, NEW MEXICO– Air Force Master Sgt. Ernest Willich puts a blasting cap on an M18 claymore mine April 20 during Ranger Stakes evaluation. Ranger Stakes tests basic knowledge in various infantry tasks. Willich, an Air Force Pre-Ranger candidate, was tested on his ability to successfully employ a claymore mine, as part of the Air Force Ranger Assessment Course 16-01.
