160324-N-PO203-017 PEARL HARBOR (Mar. 24, 2016) Ens. Michael Manwell and Ens. Alexandria Asuncion look at a virtual representation of the bridge wing aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) during an Office of Naval Research (ONR) demonstration of new and improved training programs that combine software and gaming technology to help naval forces plan diverse missions and operations. The demonstration at the Fleet Integrated Synthetic Training/Testing Facility (FIST2FAC) on Ford Island, Hawaii, and aboard the Murphy located pierside at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, allows Sailors to interact in countless virtual settings—and train for multiple missions simultaneously.
