WATERS NEAR JAPAN (May 23, 2016) – An AV-8B Harrier, attached to the “Black Sheep” of Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 214, and two F/A-18D Hornets, attached to the “Bats” of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 242, perform a flyover of the guided-missile destroyers USS Momsen (DDG 92), left, and USS Decatur (DDG 73), during a joint service small force training exercise. The destroyers Momsen, Decatur, and USS Spruance (DDG 111), with embarked “Devil Fish” and “Warbirds” detachments of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 49, are deployed as part of a U.S. 3rd Fleet Pacific Surface Action Group (PAC SAG) under Destroyer Squadron (CDS) 31.
