The commodore of Destroyer Squadron 60, Capt. Cindy Thebaud, tours the Armed Forces of Liberia Coast Guard Base in Monrovia, with U.S. Navy Lt. Aaron Allison from Austin, Texas, and Chief Builder Joe Williams, from Savanna, Ga. The base is currently under renovation by U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 7, deployed from Gulfport, Miss. DESRON 60 is based in Naples, Italy. Thebaud visited the Seabees while in the region supporting Africa Partnership Station West, of which she is the commander. APS West is an international initiative developed by Naval Forces Europe and Naval Forces Africa that aims to improve maritime safety and security in West and Central Africa.
