Recruits of Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, execute a leg-sweep takedown during a Marine Corps Martial Arts Program session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 13. Each MCMAP class was taught by the MCMAP instructors and the recruits learned basic offensive and defensive techniques while quickly developing their own warrior mindset. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 19.
