James Vanvalkenburg, a motor transportation operator with Combat Logisitcs Battalion 6, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), keeps the Lord with him in the form of religious challenge coins as displayed aboard Forward Operating Base Edinbugh, Afghanistan, April 4. The Athens, Ga., native received the coins during predeployment training aboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., and he has kept them close by ever since, including nearly a dozen combat logistics patrols.
