Lance Cpl. Nicholas Randolph, a Logistics Vehicle System operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 6, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward), displays a 'good luck' pendant aboard Forward Operating Base Edinburgh, Afghanistan, April 3. The pendant was given to him by his mother prior to deploying and like many other Marines in the unit, the 21-year-old Wayne, W.Va., native keeps ensures it accompanies him each time he embarks on another combat logistics patrol in the enemy-saturated Helmand province.
