Cpl. Kyle W. Bagley discusses hasty personnel search techniques during entry-control point training, June 20, 2016, at Taurama Barracks, Papua New Guinea, as part of Exercise Koa Moana, during Task Force Koa Moana’s deployment in the Asia-Pacific region. Personnel searches are a tool used at entry-control points to ensure no contraband or illegal weapons enter a specific area such as a military base. Koa Moana is the first multi-national, bilateral exercise between the Papua New Guinea Defence Force and U.S. Marines directly and is designed to increase interoperability and relations by sharing infantry, engineering, law enforcement and medical skills. Bagley, from Canby, Oregon, is a combat engineer with Task Force Koa Moana, originally assigned to Bravo Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
