PACIFIC OCEAN (June 26, 2016) Sailors assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86) show chocks and chains to the pilots of an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to the "Magicians" of Helicopter MAritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 35, signifying the helicopter is ready and safe to launch. Shoup is currently underway participating in Exercise Pacific Dragon 2016. Pacific Dragon is a trilateral Ballistic Missile Defense tracking event between the U.S. Navy, Japan Maritime Self Defense Force and Republic of Korea Navy. The biennial exercise focuses on improving tactical and technical coordination among its participants, including the detection, tracing and reporting of ballistic targets.
