Recruits of Echo Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, learn how to tie a harness during the rappel tower event at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Calif., June 24. An instructor explained the process and allowed the recruits to follow along and tie their harnesses. Following the class, recruits went through multiple inspections to ensure they were ready for their descent on the rappel tower. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Echo Company is scheduled to graduate July 8.
